Porsche service history check

Porsche Centre servicing is recorded digitally, and a complete history matters a lot for resale value. Check the dealer services on record and whether they match what the seller says.

What a Porsche service history check shows

  • Dates of Porsche dealer services
  • Mileage at each service
  • Work carried out, where recorded
  • Gaps between services
  • Free MOT and mileage history alongside

A full service history is one of the best signs a used Porsche has been looked after, and it supports the price. A Porsche service history check shows you the dealer services recorded against the car, with the date and mileage of each, so you can see for yourself rather than relying on the advert.

How Porsche servicing works

Porsche service schedules vary by model, typically with a smaller service every couple of years or at a set mileage and a larger one at longer intervals, plus time-based items like brake fluid. With a Porsche, history is a big part of the value: a car with full Porsche Centre or respected specialist history can be worth thousands more than one without.

What to look for on a Porsche

  • Missing major services, which are expensive and often skipped by previous owners
  • Brake fluid and other time-based items on low-mileage cars
  • Specialist invoices that don't match the mileage in the MOT history

One late service isn't a reason to walk away. A pattern of long gaps, or a burst of servicing just before the car was advertised, is worth asking about and should be reflected in the price.

Services at independent garages

Dealer records only include work done at franchised Porsche dealers. Plenty of owners switch to an independent specialist once the warranty runs out, and a good specialist history is nothing to worry about. It just won't appear in the dealer record, so ask the seller for the invoices and check the dates and mileages fit.

Check the mileage too

Every service records the mileage, and those numbers should fit neatly between the MOT readings either side. Our free mileage check lists every MOT reading, so you can line them up. If they don't agree, read our guide on signs a car has been clocked.
